I have been tagged!

Apparently there is a new game of Tag being played on blogger boards. Earthroamer21 has tagged me, which means I have to take the book I am reading, go to p. 123, read the first five sentences and then type the next three sentences. (Don't ask me why this makes sense.)
NOTE: After reflection, this actually made great sense in my own account below!

Anyway, here goes: I recently received an email "forward" of a short note by Rick Warren. I found the note inspirational and decided to re-read one of his books I had read a few years ago. For those who may not know Rick Warren, he is the minister of the Saddleback church in California, a very successful mega-church. He is known primarily through his writing, however. He wrote "The Purpose-Driven Life" which I will quote from below. He also wrote "The Purpose-Driven Church" which many churches from various denominations have found very helpful. His books have made him a rich man. In the note I mentioned earlier he talks about that as well as the cancer that has attacked his wife and the difficulty of keeping perspective in this life journey toward the eternal life all Christians are bound for.

In "The Purpose-Driven Life", p. 123 happens to be the beginning of ch. 16. Rick opens with a couple of Bible quotes (I Cor. 13:3 and 2 John 1:6), then beginning with sentence 6 "Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. It runs counter to our own self-centered nature. That's why we are given a lifetime to learn it."

If you haven't read this book, give it a try. You will love it, and it will change your life!

Now, I have completed my tag requirements, and now must tag five other bloggers--which stretches my blogger acquaintance list! Tag! You are it-- Kim, Kathryn, Liz, Hal, and Kevin.
